A beautiful new spin
on roulette, in a coffee table.

A precision half-scale roulette wheel of our own design, sealed beneath toughened glass in a handmade lacquered table. The classic game, distilled. One pull of the Puller, and physics does the rest.

Classic roulette is a game of many bets. Straight-up. Splits. Streets. Corners. Dozens. Columns. It takes a large rectangular table to hold them all.

We looked at the game and kept the essentials — the numbers, the colours, the odds. The rest was quietly set aside.

What remains is roulette in its clearest form. One wheel. One Puller. One bet per player, or several. A complete game — simply.

We build roulette wheels.
And we build furniture
fit for the finest rooms.

BlackDog is a workshop that does both. We design and manufacture roulette wheels from the ground up — built in England for the events trade and for private clients — and we've built high-end gaming furniture for some of the world's finest rooms, among them Maxims in London and Crockfords at the Ritz-Carlton in Cairo.

Every wheel is assembled here, by hand. The precision metal components — the spindle, the mechanism, the specialist hardware — are designed in our workshop after a long process of research and development, then turned by trusted partners to our drawings. Everything else is ours from start to finish.

We stopped asking how to hide the wheel inside a table. We asked instead how to celebrate it.

Simply Roulette is our own piece — the first we've designed specifically to live in a private home rather than an event room. A half-scale replica wheel, set into a sculptural base we build in the same workshop, in the same finishes, with the same hands, that produce the furniture we've supplied to the best casinos in the world.

And there is a reason it is called Simply. We looked hard at the classic game and asked what truly mattered — the numbers, the colours, the odds, the moment the ball settles. The rest was set aside. The betting layout that runs around the wheel is of our own design: roulette in its clearest form, drawn in a circle rather than spread across a rectangle, so that it belongs on a round table in a drawing room.

Sealed for life.
One pull. Physics does the rest.

The wheel sits permanently beneath a single piece of toughened safety glass. Nothing opens. Nothing is inserted. The ball lives inside the wheel, resting in a pocket — the Puller is the only interface.

One good pull of the Puller spins the inner cylinder. Centrifugal force flings the ball free of its pocket and out onto the upper track, where it rolls fast against the machined diamond stops. As the cylinder slows, the ball begins to lose its grip — tumbling, jumping, bouncing across the frets and back into play.

The moment the ball settles into a pocket, the cylinder is still drifting. That final coincidence of ball and pocket is what makes the game. The rest is gravity and momentum — the same physics that has decided roulette for three hundred years.

  1. IThe Puller is drawn back and released in a single, smooth motion. The cylinder picks up speed.
  2. IIThe ball is thrown clear of its pocket, runs up the track, and strikes the diamond ball-stops.
  3. IIIAs the cylinder slows, the ball tumbles back into play — and comes to rest in a new, random pocket.

Not a game. An instrument.

Every Simply Roulette begins with a half-scale replica wheel of our own design — built, balanced and hand-matched in the workshop before the table is wrapped around it.

Detail · Figured Walnut

Hand-laid book-matched veneer. Sealed beneath toughened glass. A finish that only improves with age.

Three finishes. One silhouette.

Each form shares the same sculpted base and the same professional half-scale wheel. Only the material changes — and with it, the room it belongs in.

The three finishes above make up the standing collection. For the right commission, any finish can be worked by hand — a matte oak, a green baize, a tinted lacquer to match an interior. Discuss your room with the workshop.

Detail · The Layout

The circular betting layout is of our own design — the classic game, drawn in a curve. Hand-finished, sealed for life beneath toughened glass.

Only twenty-five tables are made each year.

Each Simply Roulette is numbered, signed, and entered into a private ledger. The commission carries a certificate of provenance, the name of the maker, and a lifetime of workshop support. Should the piece ever change hands, the register moves with it.

A private enquiry.

Simply Roulette is not stocked and is not sold at retail. Pieces are commissioned directly with the BlackDog workshop.

Share a few details and we will respond personally — normally within one working day — with pricing, lead time and finish guidance.
